THE CRUISING LIFE – FOURTH CRUISE – COZUMEL

Our next cruise was a quickie 4 night trip sailing out of Ft Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida. This was a special trip for me and Liz because we were bringing my youngest daughter (Jackie) and a college friend of hers (Jessica). This was a new experience for both Jackie and Jessica.

For this cruise we would be on the Liberty of the Seas. We would have a sea day followed by a day in Cozumel, and then another sea day before arriving back in Ft Lauderdale. The Liberty OTS is a Freedom class ship for Royal Caribbean and is approximately 154 Gross Tons, 185 feet wide, 1112 feet long and draws 28 feet draft. It has 14 guest decks, 3 pools, 6 whirlpools, 3 level Main Dining Room, 14 passenger elevators, theater, spa, and a partridge in a pear tree (not really). They were already decorated for Christmas.

Up to this point, this was the largest cruise ship either Liz or I had been on. Both Jessica and Jackie were bug-eyed for the first few hours as we explored the ship.

The photos below will show you around the ship some and then we will talk about our time in Cozumel in the next installment. Make sure you “subscribe” up above so you know when new posts are available.

I hadn’t remembered ever cruising Liberty of the Seas until I saw the Morgan. LOVED that car. But then I’ve always been an English sportscar buff with a soft spot for Morgans.

    Great photos, as usual.

Thanks, Doug. Morgan is still an active company, although now under Italian ownership. They product around 850 cars per year, all hand-built!
