On day 13 I found myself in my local grocery store. As soon as you walk in you are met with a florist station that most always had a beautiful selection of floral arrangements. Today they had a plethora of Gerbera daisies. I pulled out my iPhone and got my Day 13 shot and bought some to take home and to shoot on Day 14!
Gerbera daisies are bright, colorful flowers that are commonly planted in gardens as bedding plants or in containers in South Carolina. They are native to South Africa, are members of the aster family, and are also related to sunflowers and marigolds. The genus name, Gerbera was named in honor of the 18th-century German naturalist, Traugott Gerbera.
